How to make custom bingo cards

Custom bingo cards turn any word list into a game — vocabulary review, holiday parties, baby showers, you name it. Here's the whole ritual:

  1. List your entries, one per line. For a classic 5×5 card with a free center you need 24 unique words or numbers.
  2. Pick a card size. 5×5 is traditional; 3×3 makes a quick game for young kids; 4×4 sits in between.
  3. Choose how many cards you need — one per player. Each card is shuffled independently so no two are alike.
  4. Generate, then print. The print view shows only the cards, one per page. Choose Save as PDF to keep a reusable set.

Why the free center space matters

A free space counts as already marked, so every line through the middle needs one fewer square. It's the traditional 5×5 layout and keeps games snappy. Uncheck the box for a longer, harder game.

How many entries do I need for a bingo card?
A 5×5 card needs 24 unique entries with the free center space (25 without it), a 4×4 needs 15 (16 without), and a 3×3 needs 8 (9 without). If you do not have enough, the generator tells you exactly how many you are short.
Can I make multiple different cards at once?
Yes. Choose how many cards you need and each one gets its own random shuffle, so every player gets a different card. Printing puts each card on its own page, ready to hand out.
Does the center space have to be free?
No. The free center space is optional — uncheck the box and the middle square gets a random entry like every other square on the card.
What does the free center space do in bingo?
A free space counts as already marked, so players need one fewer square to complete any line that passes through the middle. It is the traditional layout for a 5×5 bingo card.
How do I print the cards or save them as a PDF?
Click Print cards. The print view hides the form and the guide and shows only the cards, one per page, so choosing Save as PDF in your print dialog gives you a clean PDF, or you can print a stack for the whole class.
Is my word list sent anywhere?
No. Everything runs in your browser with JavaScript. Your words are never uploaded, stored online, or logged.
