What if I skip more?
How to use the attendance calculator
- Enter your total classes for the term — every scheduled session, including the ones still ahead.
- Enter how many you have attended so far. Every result updates live as you type.
- Set your required percentage. It defaults to 75, the most common rule — tap a preset (65, 75, 80, 85) or type your own figure.
- Read your allowance: how many more classes you can miss and how many you must attend to stay on target — then try the "what if" projector before planning a skip.
Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate my attendance percentage?
Divide classes attended by total classes and multiply by 100. For example, 30 attended out of 40 classes is (30 / 40) x 100 = 75%. The calculator above does it instantly.
How many classes can I miss and still keep 75% attendance?
It depends on your total classes. The rule is: you can miss at most floor(total x 0.25) classes across the whole term. With 40 classes, that is 10. Enter your numbers above for your exact allowance.
What is the 75 percent attendance rule?
Many schools and colleges require at least 75% attendance to sit exams or pass a course. It means you must attend at least three out of every four classes. Some institutions use 80% or another figure — set your own required percentage in the calculator.
What required percentage should I use?
75% is the most common rule for schools and colleges, but some institutions require 65%, 80%, or 85%. Tap one of the preset buttons under the required-percentage field, or type any value from 0 to 100 — the calculator works with whatever your institution enforces.
How is 'classes I can miss' calculated?
We work out how many more classes you must attend: ceil(required / 100 x total classes - attended), never below zero. Everything else still ahead is skippable, so your allowance is your remaining classes minus that number. The must-attend figure always rounds up, which guarantees you finish at or above your requirement.
What if my attendance is already below the required percentage?
Your allowance shrinks, but it is not automatically zero. The calculator tells you exactly how many more classes you must attend to climb back — for example, with 28 attended out of 40 and a 75% requirement, you must attend 2 more and can still miss 10 of your remaining 12.
What does 'requirement secured' mean?
It means your attendance is already high enough that you could skip every remaining class and still finish at or above your required percentage. Your allowance then equals all your remaining classes.
How does the 'what if' projector work?
Enter how many more classes you plan to skip and it shows your projected final attendance percentage, plus whether you would stay safe or drop below your required percentage.
Can I use this for work or office attendance?
Yes. The math is the same for any attendance tracking — school, college, or workplace. Just enter your total scheduled days, days attended, and the required percentage.
Is my data stored anywhere?
No. Everything runs in your browser, and your inputs are saved only on your own device so the form remembers them next visit. Nothing is sent to a server.
