How to make a study quiz
A good self-quiz turns passive re-reading into active recall — the single most effective study habit researchers have found. The maker above builds multiple-choice quizzes you can retake as often as you like.
- Name your quiz in the Build tab — "Biology Chapter 5" beats "Quiz 1" when you come back to it.
- Add questions one at a time. Type the question, fill in all four options, and click the circle next to the correct answer.
- Save the quiz. It is stored in your browser, so you can build a whole library of quizzes.
- Take it. Switch to the Take tab, choose your quiz, answer, and submit — you get an instant score plus a review of every question.
Tips for better quiz questions
Write plausible wrong answers — options that are obviously wrong do not test anything. Keep each question to one idea, and shuffle the position of the correct answer so it is not always option A. Retake the quiz a day later; the questions you miss are the ones worth studying.
Frequently asked questions
How do I make a quiz with this tool?
Switch to the Build tab, give your quiz a title, then add questions one at a time: type the question, fill in the four answer options, and click the radio button next to the correct one. Press Save quiz when you are done - you can build as many quizzes as you like.
How many questions can a quiz have?
There is no hard limit. Most study quizzes work best with 5 to 20 questions, but you can add as many as you need. Each question needs four options and exactly one correct answer.
Where are my quizzes saved?
In your own browser, using local storage. Your quizzes stay on your device and are never uploaded to a server. Clearing your browser data will remove them, so keep a backup of important quizzes.
Can I edit or delete a question after adding it?
Yes. In the Build tab, every question in your list has Edit and Delete buttons. Edit loads the question back into the builder so you can change the text, options, or correct answer, then save it again.
How is my score calculated?
Your score is the number of questions you answered correctly divided by the total number of questions, shown as a percentage. After you submit, each question is marked right or wrong and the correct answer is shown for any you missed.
Is the quiz maker free?
Yes. It is completely free with no sign-up, no accounts, and no limits on how many quizzes you build or take.
