Study Time Logger

Log every study session — subject, date, minutes — and watch your totals, streaks, and study habits take shape. Your log lives only in your browser.

Log a session

Sessions are saved in your browser only. Nothing is uploaded.

How to track your study time

A study log turns invisible effort into visible progress. Write down what you studied and how long right after each session — memory is generous, logs are honest.

  1. Log immediately. Record the session the moment you finish; a 45-minute session recalled tomorrow becomes "about an hour."
  2. One subject per entry. Split mixed sessions (25 min math, 20 min chemistry) into two entries for clean per-subject totals.
  3. Review weekly. Sunday night, compare this week's totals per subject against your exam schedule — the bar chart shows neglected subjects at a glance.
  4. Protect the streak. Even a 15-minute review session keeps a streak alive. Short beats skipped.

Why minutes beat hours

Logging in minutes makes short sessions feel worthwhile — "25 minutes" reads as real progress where "0.4 hours" feels like nothing. Small, consistent entries are what build the streak chart into something motivating.

How does the study streak work?
A streak counts consecutive days with at least one logged session. If you have not logged today yet, the streak still counts from yesterday — it only breaks after a full day with no session. Best streak is the longest run in your history.
Where is my study data stored?
Only in your own browser, using localStorage. Nothing is uploaded, no account is needed, and clearing your browser data will erase the log — use a different browser or device and the log will not follow you.
Can I log a session for a past date?
Yes. Change the date field to any day in the past — useful for catching up on yesterday's sessions. Future dates are blocked so the dashboard stays honest.
What counts as "this week" in the dashboard?
Monday through Sunday in your local timezone. The 14-day chart next to it always shows the last 14 days ending today, so short weeks still read clearly.
I typed "Math" one day and "math" another. Are they separate subjects?
No. Subjects are grouped case-insensitively, so "Math" and "math" count as one subject. The dashboard shows whichever spelling you used first, and the subject box suggests past subjects as you type.
Is there a limit on sessions?
No artificial limit. Sessions are tiny text records, so thousands fit comfortably in browser storage. The recent-sessions list shows the latest 20; totals always include everything.
